Kroger Pilots Self-Driving Grocery Delivery
Yesterday, Kroger’s autonomous Prius vehicles began delivering groceries to customers within its test market in Arizona. Fry’s Food Store in Scottsdale, which they own, will be the pilot location for the new service. For the first month, there will be a person in the car for each delivery. Next month is where the real test begins as the service will switch to a human-free experience. This is yet another move towards convenience for the grocery retail market, as the competition continues to stiffen between brands. Kroger expects the move to cut down on delivery costs and time it takes to reach consumers homes.

Amazon Explores Movie Theatre Option
Is there a single industry Amazon will not eventually disrupt? Next up for the colossal brand, possibly, is the movie theatre industry. According to a recent report, Amazon is looking into the purchase of Landmark Theatres. No decisions have yet been made, nor has anything been confirmed, however it was reported that Amazon is meeting with investment bank Stephens to possibly discuss the matter. The move would be interesting as it seems it would directly compete with Amazon’s widely popular Prime Video service.
