Target Maps Out Next Phase of Growth

Target has introduced a multi-year strategic plan designed to accelerate growth, centered on improving the shopping experience and strengthening its competitive position in retail. The company plans an incremental $2 billion investment in 2026, including about $1 billion in operating investments and $1 billion in additional capital spending, aimed at enhancing stores, technology, and customer engagement. These investments will support updated store layouts, improved displays, expanded marketing, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence to enhance product discovery and personalization.

The strategy is guided by four core priorities: strengthening Target’s merchandising authority, elevating the guest experience, accelerating technology, and investing in team members and communities. Target intends to lead with differentiated assortments that emphasize style, design, and value while improving both digital and in-store experiences. The company will also invest heavily in store payroll, training, and new technology tools that help employees work more efficiently while delivering a more personalized and engaging customer journey.

As part of the plan, Target will expand its physical footprint and modernize existing locations. The retailer expects to open more than 30 new stores in 2026, complete over 130 full-store remodels, and continue investing in supply chain and fulfillment capabilities to support faster delivery and omnichannel services.

Marco’s Pizza Sets Sights on 80+ Store Openings in 2026

Marco’s Pizza is entering 2026 with ambitious expansion plans, targeting more than 80 new store openings following a year of steady, disciplined growth in 2025. The company opened more than 60 locations last year and strengthened its presence across new domestic markets while continuing to explore international opportunities. This growth strategy focuses on thoughtful development rather than rapid expansion, with leadership emphasizing infrastructure, franchisee support, and operational consistency as the foundation for sustainable scaling.

The brand’s 2025 progress included several strategic milestones. Marco’s expanded into new U.S. markets such as New Jersey and signed development agreements for additional territories, while also celebrating growth in international markets like Mexico and Puerto Rico. Internally, the company invested in leadership hires, supply chain efficiencies, and digital improvements designed to enhance both the customer experience and franchisee operations.

Looking ahead, Marco’s plans to support its next phase of growth through technology, menu innovation, and enhanced operational infrastructure. The company is developing an Operations Center of Excellence to improve training and performance across its system, while also upgrading its digital ecosystem with initiatives such as an updated loyalty program and exploration of AI-powered ordering.
