American Airlines, Citi and Mastercard have teamed up to introduce the new Citi / AAdvantage Globe Mastercard, a mid-tier co-branded travel rewards credit card designed to sit between entry-level airline cards and ultra-premium ones.
Cardholders receive a suite of premium travel benefits including four annual 24-hour passes to Admirals Club® lounges, a companion certificate ($99 plus taxes & fees) for a domestic round-trip Main Cabin fare, up to $100 credit for inflight purchases, first checked bag free (for up to eight companions on the same reservation), and preferred boarding (Group 5) for the cardholder and up to eight companions. The card comes with an annual fee of $350.
On the earnings side, the card offers strong incentives: 6x miles on eligible bookings through AAdvantage® Hotels™, 3x miles on purchases with American Airlines, 2x miles at restaurants including take-out/delivery, 2x miles on eligible rideshare/public transit, and 1x on all other purchases. Cardholders also earn 1 Loyalty Point toward AAdvantage status for every mile earned on qualifying purchases.
Beyond travel earnings and perks, the card adds lifestyle and protection features: up to $100 annual “Splurge Credit”, up to $240 annual statement credits for completed trips on the car-sharing platform Turo, no foreign transaction fees, access to Citi Entertainment®, Mastercard World Legend/Collection benefits, and standard travel/shopping protections.
