The Oakland Athletics are taking an innovative approach to ticketing for the 2019 season. Instead of selling season tickets, the Athletics have implemented a membership program, “A’s Access.” For a monthly fee, members will get a reserved seating plan, discounts on concessions, merch, parking benefits, and other additional perks.
This flexible, loyalty-centric approach to ticketing is an innovation for the sports industry. To learn more about the features of the program, as well as its strategy and maintenance, Loyalty360 recently spoke with Chris Giles, Chief Operating Officer for the A’s. He provided an overview of A’s Access and offered insight into the challenges and opportunities inherent to implementing and running such a program.
