Pomelo, a pioneer in combining consumer credit with international money transfers, has launched Pomelo Points, the first rewards program specifically tailored for sending money overseas.
Through the Pomelo Points rewards program, customers can earn one point for each dollar sent to the Philippines when they use a debit card, and two points when using their Pomelo Mastercard®. They can then redeem the points, which are converted to digital gift codes, for food deliveries, rides, and more, thanks to Pomelo’s partnership with Grab, a Southeast Asia super-app.
Pomelo Founder and CEO Eric Velasquez Frenkiel said, “Today marks another industry first - we’re introducing the only points program in remittance. By combining zero-fee transfers with the ability to earn points, we’re helping customers send extra joy to their loved ones, all while building their financial future.”
The program builds upon Pomelo’s unique features, including its “send now, pay later” option for international money transfers, the brand’s credit-building solution for remittances, and its secure bank transfer services.
Pomelo plans to expand the program throughout 2025.
