Taskrabbit Enhances Partnership With IKEA to Enhance the Customer Experience With Streamlined Furniture Assembly Service
The home services marketplace Taskrabbit is expanding its collaboration with IKEA to provide a more seamless customer experience for IKEA shoppers. The enhanced partnership allows customers to book and pay for furniture assembly services when checking their purchases out, eliminating the need for a separate booking process. Available in major metropolitan areas across the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Spain, the integration saves customers time and reduces stress, ensuring a smoother, more efficient process from purchase to assembly. Previously, IKEA customers could only receive a quote for assembly via the IKEA website but were required to finalize bookings and payments through Taskrabbit’s platform. With the new integration, customers can now enjoy a transparent, upfront price for furniture assembly directly during checkout.

Taskrabbit CEO Ania Smith said, “We’re excited to bring Taskrabbit’s assembly service to more IKEA locations, offering customers a reliable, hassle-free solution that enhances their overall shopping experience. Longer term, our goal is to scale our offering to additional retailers to provide scalable, high-quality services that surpass customer expectations and drive meaningful value to our partners.”

An initial evaluation of the collaboration shows a 50% increase in customers opting for assembly services with their furniture purchases and a 4.7X increase in the average order value for purchases that include assembly. Furthermore, there has been a nearly 40% reduction in returns for some of IKEA’s most complex furniture items. Both companies plan to expand the partnership further, integrating more technology to improve the customer experience and exploring new retail partnerships worldwide.

Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines Launch Status Match Partnership for Loyalty Program Members
Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have introduced a new status match program between their loyalty programs. The partnership allows Alaska Airlines customers to use their Mileage Plan miles for flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines and enjoy exclusive benefits, such as earning miles across both programs. For Mileage Plan elites, there are additional perks when flying on Hawaiian Airlines, marking a significant step towards a future integrated loyalty program between the two airlines.

Members of HawaiianMiles can now link their accounts with Alaska’s Mileage Plan to match their status, granting them elite privileges on both airlines. The seamless integration ensures that HawaiianMiles members can enjoy elite benefits when flying with either carrier. Additionally, Alaska Airlines customers do not need to sign up for a HawaiianMiles account, as their Mileage Plan number will suffice to receive benefits when flying on Hawaiian-operated flights.

HawaiianMiles can also access Oneworld status privileges through their Mileage Plan number when flying on oneworld partner flights. Hawaiian Airlines is set to join the oneworld alliance in 2026. Mileage Plan members will be able to access a range of oneworld perks, including priority check-in, lounge access, preferred boarding, and fast-track security, depending on their status tier.

Poplin Launches Chief Freedom Officer Search for Ambassador, Awarding $10,000 and a Year of Free Laundry
Every year, Americans dedicate 13 billion hours to laundry, ranking it one of the most disliked household chores. Poplin, an on-demand personal laundry service, is looking to change that for one lucky person who will be awarded the title of “Chief Freedom Officer.” The company will choose one ambassador to experience a year of laundry-free living and a $10,000 cash prize. In exchange, Poplin will ask its chosen “Chief Freedom Officer” to document how their life improves by freeing up time and energy previously spent on laundry.

Poplin CEO Mort Fertel said, “Poplin frees you from laundry and lets you invest more in what matters most. It is my hope that our first Poplin Chief Freedom Officer will inspire others to move from piles of laundry to piles of dreams. If you’re creative, passionate, and ready to show the world how you’d make the most of your Poplin freedom, we want to hear your story!”

Responsibilities for Poplin’s Chief Freedom Officer will include creating engaging content across social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, highlighting the rewards of being free from doing laundry. Additionally, the officer will represent Poplin in media interviews and at events, promoting the brand’s ease of service. Finally, Poplin’s new Chief Freedom Officer will enjoy free laundry service for a year and $10,000 in spending cash. Applications for the position are open until March 26, 2025. The contest encourages participants to submit a short video explaining how they would spend the cash and laundry-free time. After the finalists are chosen, Poplin will determine the winner based on a combination of voting, creativity, technical skill, and personality. The lucky winner will be announced on April 22, 2025.
