DFW Loyalty AppAs mobile devices continue to grow as an engagement channel, companies are being challenged to find ways in which an app would enhance their customer experience. Mobile technology is making a splash in the travel industry, as apps seek to streamline the often tedious process of travel. Most recently, the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has found ways to improve the traveling experience through a major update of their mobile app.

“Approximately 90% of DFW passengers are carrying smartphones and are increasingly engaging with us through mobile devices and requesting immediate information,” said Sean Donohue, CEO of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. “The new DFW Airport Mobile App delivers answers right to them with a sleek interactive user interface.”

Serving 63 million travelers a year is a monumental task, one that’s being made easier by the newest version of the app, available on both Apple and Android devices. Created by the airport alongside app developer M2Mobi, the program is built to anticipate and fulfill travelers’ basic needs. These features include:

  • Live flight information
  • Weather updates for both DFW and all destination cities
  • Parking information, including rates and availability
  • Turn-by-turn navigation to any point of interest within DFW
  • Search capability for shops, dining options, and services at DFW, 200 locations in all

The app is just part of the airport’s drive to create a better customer experience through the use of technology. The travel hub has also installed an Automated Passport Control system for easy customs processing, a patented system of Wayfinding touchscreen displays, and a network of complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi across all five terminals. The mobile app is another step toward providing customers with the easy and welcoming experience they look for in a travel center.DFW loyalty app

“We congratulate DFW with the release of their mobile app,” said Michiel Munneke, CEO of M2Mobi. “This is a first step in our partnership towards delivering a seamless and delightful passenger experience. It has been great to work together with such an ambitious organization as DFW and we look forward to continuously improve the airport journey by listening to the passengers needs and connecting more services.”

The revamped app was unveiled on Nov. 20, but continues to receive periodic updates and improvements. It’s free to download and available now on the iTunes and Google Play stores for both smartphones and tablets.
