Sam’s Club Revamps App and Website

Sam’s Club has just completed a refresh of its website and mobile app, rolling the updated interface out to all its members as of the first week of September, according to Greg Pulsifer, SVP of e-commerce. A key new feature is a “global intent center” that appears at the start of shopping, allowing customers to choose their fulfillment method right away—pickup, curbside, or ship-to-home. Depending on which option is chosen, the shopping experience is tailored. The redesign also includes better loading speeds, more personalization, and richer visual content like larger images and improved video capacity.

Behind the scenes, Sam’s Club is trying to more tightly integrate its physical warehouses (“clubs”) with its digital storefront. More than half of its e-commerce orders are fulfilled directly from its clubs. To support this shift, some newer Sam’s Club locations being used as testbeds: they’re trialing larger fulfillment areas, exploring Scan & Go checkout instead of traditional lanes, and otherwise redesigning how the club functions to better support fulfillment and curbside services.

Sam’s Club is pushing to compete more strongly on convenience, an area where big rivals like Costco have had an edge in terms of the in-person experience and “feel.” Leveraging Walmart’s fulfillment network gives Sam’s Club scale and flexibility.

Winn-Dixie Marks 100 Years with $200K Commitment to Fight Hunger

Winn-Dixie and the Winn-Dixie Gives Foundation marked their 100th anniversary by renewing their commitment to fighting hunger during Hunger Action Month. They pledged $100,000 to Feeding America for hunger relief efforts—an amount that will provide over one million meals in the Southeast. In addition, they committed another $100,000 worth of fresh and shelf-stable food to seven Feeding America partner food banks via mobile pantries, delivering directly to neighbors facing food insecurity.

The grocer is working with several regional food banks to host mobile pantry events. These include Feeding the Gulf Coast; Feeding Northeast Florida; Feeding South Florida; Feeding Tampa Bay; Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia; Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida; and Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana. Winn-Dixie’s leader, Anthony Hucker, emphasized that as they look forward to the next century, they are intensifying their efforts to ensure access to nourishment for the communities they serve, both in stores and beyond.

Beyond Hunger Action Month, Winn-Dixie is also extending its community support in other areas. This includes partnering with the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund and THE PLAYERS Championship to aid families with childhood cancer, and donating $100,000 to multiple Boys & Girls Clubs across the Southeast to supply meals, snacks, and take-home food for children and their families. The article highlights how these initiatives build on Winn-Dixie’s long-standing role in community nourishment and support.

Wyndham Rewards Partners with KrisFlyer to Expand Earning and Redemption Options for Travelers

Wyndham Rewards has expanded its loyalty program by adding KrisFlyer, the rewards program of Singapore Airlines Group, as its newest transfer partner. This partnership allows Wyndham members to either earn KrisFlyer miles directly from eligible hotel stays or transfer Wyndham Rewards points into KrisFlyer miles, starting at 6,000 Wyndham points for 1,200 miles. Members who prefer can also opt to earn one KrisFlyer mile per U.S. dollar spent instead of Wyndham points, giving travelers greater choice in how they maximize value.

The addition significantly increases flexibility for Wyndham’s 120 million members, who can now use points not only for hotel stays but also for flights, upgrades, and other rewards within the KrisFlyer program. This move strengthens Wyndham’s positioning by connecting hotel loyalty to global air travel, appealing especially to frequent flyers who want to consolidate and stretch their rewards across both lodging and airline experiences.

Wyndham Rewards continues to highlight its simplicity and accessibility, with free nights starting at just 7,500 points, three easy redemption tiers, and status benefits beginning after only five nights. Together, the partnership provides travelers with more versatile ways to earn and redeem rewards across both land and air.
