Office Depot Helps Tens of Thousands of Students and Teachers
Office Depot announced that over $3.8 million worth of educational supplies were recently provided to students, teachers and Title I schools across the country as a result of Office Depot’s philanthropic program Start Proud® and the generosity of Office Depot and OfficeMax customers.

For the fourth year in a row, associate volunteers assembled 18,000 premium backpacks filled with over $1.8 million worth of school supplies like notebooks, composition books, crayons, pencils, highlighters and more, to provide to students at more than 25 Title I schools nationwide. With support from Boise Paper and Domtar Paper, each backpack also included one $20 Office Depot gift card for families to purchase additional supplies for their child.
 
Hobby Lobby Hiring 11,000, Raising Part-Time Wages by 18%
Hobby Lobby announced that it is hiring 11,000 seasonal store employees for the Christmas season. Further, in addition to raising its full-time minimum hourly wage to $17.00 last October, Hobby Lobby has also raised its part-time minimum hourly wage by over 18% to $13.00.

Hobby Lobby continues to experience solid growth with the opening of 25 new stores in 2021. In 2009, Hobby Lobby was one of the first retailers to establish a nationwide minimum hourly wage well above the federal minimum wage and has since raised its minimum wages eleven times over the last twelve years.

Bytemark collaborated with the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), King County Metro and rewards partner Velocia to release Transit GO rewards, a mobility rewards and incentive program embedded within the regional fare payment app Transit GO Ticket.

The program will allow users to sign-up to earn points for various actions and subsequently redeem those points for rides on King County Metro buses, water taxis, Sound Transit, Seattle Streetcar and all local scooter and bike share companies, including Lime, LINK, Spin and Wheels.
