Preferred Hotels Reveals New Sustainability-Focused Brand Beyond Green
TopHotels.com says the new Beyond Green brand aims to shine a light on properties that exemplify sustainability tourism leadership.
Born through a natural synergy between the owners of Preferred Hotel Group and eco-tourism pioneer Costas Christ – the founder of Beyond Green Travel, which Preferred acquired in February 2020 – Beyond Green hopes to cater to the rapidly rising demand for properties that lead the way in sustainability. The brand’s name was chosen in recognition of the importance of environmentally friendly practices and the responsibility that the tourism industry has towards protecting cultural heritage, community and biodiversity.
“Never before has there been a greater need to promote a kinder and gentler way to explore our beautiful, yet fragile planet,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotel Group. “Driven by our brand promise, Believe in Travel, which guides every decision we make as a company, we believe that now is the time to go big and be bold as we look to the future of travel.
American Family Agents Join Forces To Fight Hunger
American Family Insurance agencies, Nancy Kurtz Agency, Inc. and Bryan Schlicht Agency, Inc., have partnered with American Family Insurance by making a $2,000 donation to Second Harvest North Central Food Bank.
“Receiving this gift from Nancy, Bryan and American Family Insurance will help us to provide nearly 8,000 meals to our hungry neighbors,” said Trisha Zimmerman, Development and Marketing Manager, Second Harvest North Central Food Bank. In order to provide these meals, it takes many volunteers, especially during COVID-19.
Repacking and packing thousands of boxes of food to ensure safe distribution has been a challenge for Second Harvest. As a way to provide a safe environment, they have had to limit the number of volunteers which means it has taken extra-long to get the work done. “We are so grateful for our past and current volunteers,” state Zimmerman, “but we continue to need more help.”
The Rise And Fall Of McDonald's Pizza, A Doomed Fast-Food Icon
BusinessInsider.com asks: do you remember the McPizza? Gen Z probably doesn't. But, for children of the '80s and '90s, the dish brings back memories of a time when you could order a pizza alongside your burgers and fries.
For some reason, McDonald's Twitter account also recently decided to reminisce about its lost pizza, tweeting: "remember when we sold McPizza."
Work From Home Brings New Freedom, New Distractions And New Definition Of 'The Office'
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the office of When I Work, a downtown Minneapolis software company, looks like many other trendy workplaces with its industrial-chic design, minimalist sofas, bright kitchen and free coffee.
Its leaders have decided workers no longer have to work in it. Ever.
“This is how we’ll be forever,” said Martin Hartshorne, the company’s chief executive. “We are indefinitely remote.”
