IGTV is Coming
Instagram users can rejoice in the next few weeks. Last week, Instagram announced the upcoming launch of their new long form video platform, IGTV, for users to enjoy. Instead of being limited to the one limit time limit currently placed on Instagram, IGTV users can upload 60 minute video content for others to watch and engage with. With YouTube having little to no competition in the long form video platform industry, the move by Instagram brings another player into the market. Despite the IGTV app being a separate download, Instagram has made it possible for users to watch the long form content within the Instagram app alone. The ease of usage and interface both seem to be simple and engaging. The question that remains is whether or not the move will end up putting any pressure on YouTube whatsoever.

It’s a Bad Day for…….
Chipotle. Yesterday, the brand announced they would be closing 65 stores in the coming months. The move comes as a, “marketing blitz,” for the road ahead. Within that blitz will come “in-app” delivery at 2,000 stores by the end of 2018 and a new loyalty program beginning in 2019. The brand appears to be trimming the fat at its underperforming locations, while putting the majority of their efforts into expansion and success at their high volume stores. New ideas within the stores, such as $2 tacos with a drink, are the brands attempt to liven up a menu which many consumers believe has grown stale over the years.
