Chick-Fil-A Offers Meal Kits

Starting on August 27th, Chick-Fil-A will try its hand within the meal kit market. The Mealtime Kits concept will consist of pre-portioned ingredients and Chick-fil-A chicken, and are designed for customers to cook at home. Customers can purchase the kits in the drive-thru, at the counter or via the Chick-fil-A One app. All of the ingredients in the kit are fresh and nothing else needs to be added besides cooking oil. This could be a groundbreaking concept for the traditional fast food brand. The test period will run until November 17th in the Atlanta market and customer feedback will determine if they roll it out nationwide or not.

It’s a Bad Day For…

Juul Labs. The popular e-cigarette company could see its marketing practices up in smoke as it is facing multiple lawsuits (see what we did there)? According to Wired, Juul has been hit with three different lawsuits since April alone. As well as a request to stop Juul’s marketing practices, two of the lawsuits filed in California allege Juul deceptively marketed the product as safe, when it contains more potent doses of nicotine than cigarettes. In terms of its marketing practices, its “VAPORIZED” campaign is perhaps what is gaining the most attention from complaints. The campaign that featured young people with vibrant backgrounds in billboards in Times Square and a prominent advertisement in Vice magazine. The brand has become increasingly popular with college students over the last few years, as many students have turned to the e-cigarettes as an alternative to cigarettes. The FDA is asking for more information on Juul’s marketing practices and the brand is increasing its lobbying efforts as a response to the suits.
