King Arthur Flour, Now King Arthur Baking Company, Rebrands to Celebrate Commitment to Baking
 
King Arthur Flour has announced it has rebranded itself to King Arthur Baking Company. This rebrand reflects how the brand sees itself, and that is as a company of bakers working to forge a sense of community.
 
“King Arthur has always been a baking company at heart. The rebrand reaffirms our belief in the power of baking and our commitment to inspiring bakers through every single touchpoint, including our teaching and our products,” said Karen Colberg, King Arthur Baking Company’s Co-CEO, in a King Arthur news release. “Our mission is rooted in building stronger communities, fostering the connections that come from baking and sharing.  The new positioning as a baking company will enable us to continue to grow and welcome all bakers, from passionate life-long bakers to beginners.”
 
Champs Sports Launches’ Women Win Week’
 
Champs Sports has launched its fourth-annual “Women Win Week.” The program started Saturday, July 18, and runs until Sunday, July 26. It will feature virtual experiences focused on fitness, beauty, leadership, mental health, and more. You can see the full list of events at the above link.

Starbucks to Update Loyalty Program and App This Fall to Offer More Ways to Pay and Earn Stars
 
Starbucks has announced it is updating its loyalty program by giving members more payment options ways to earn Stars through the app. Starbucks will allow its rewards members, beginning this fall, scan their app and pay with cash, credit/debit cards, or select mobile wallets and earn Stars as well.
 
 “Having a connection with our customers, whether in our stores or digitally, allows us to anticipate their needs and deliver the products and experiences they are looking for. Our customers have shared with us that they would like more options to pay and earn Stars in the app as a Starbucks Rewards member, in addition to the Starbucks Card,” said Brady Brewer, Starbucks chief marketing officer, in a Starbucks press release. “We expect the expansion of payment options will appeal to an even wider customer audience and deepen engagement with our members.”

Covid-19 Prompts Walmart to Close Stores on Thanksgiving Day
 
According to the Wall Street Journal, Walmart, as well as Sam’s Club, will be closing their stores on Thanksgiving Day this year. The brand has also said it will be giving bonuses to the staff at its stores and distribution sites in the U.S. as a reward for working during the pandemic.
 
“We know holiday shopping will be different this year, and we will be managing sales events differently,” John Furner, Walmart’s U.S. chief executive, said in an email to employees, quoted in the above Wall Street Journal article.
