Loyalty360 Reads: Casey’s Improves Food Service Technology, Topgolf to Raise Funds for the Special Olympics, and Shipley Do-Nuts Starts New Rewards Program

Casey’s Leverages New Food Service Technology

Casey's General Stores Inc. is upgrading its food service program to streamline operations and improve the ordering process. Two new technology solutions will be implemented to improve success across the network of convenience stores. The digital food labeling system will produce printed labels, eliminating the need for managing dozens of pre-printed label SKUs in inventory. Simultaneously, the label content distribution platform will oversee label modifications at either the distribution center or corporate level, automatically refreshing labels across all stores. This approach eliminates the expenses associated with maintaining pre-printed label inventory.

“Jolt's digital labeling system has transformed the labeling process in our kitchens as we continue to modernize operations. It allows us to quickly and efficiently adapt to any recipe or label changes, helping us to simplify the operation of our kitchens for our hardworking team members," says Brad Haga, senior vice president of prepared food and dispensed beverage at Casey's. "Working with Jolt has been fantastic — they're a valued partner in our pursuit of efficiency and growth."

This streamlined technology will improve efficiency and help associates focus on providing optimal customer service.

Shipley Do-Nuts Launches Do-Happy Rewards Program

Shipley Do-Nuts has introduced its new loyalty program to reward fans for their continued business. Do-Happy Rewards members earn five points for every $1 they spend to unlock rewards that range from free do-nuts and kolaches to Shipley merchandise and 99-cent coffees. The more points reward members earn, they can level up to the next slate of exclusive offers, discounts, and benefits. The app also allows for easy, streamlined online ordering for pickup or delivery.

"We began testing Do-Happy Rewards in early 2023 in our company-owned shops, and it was well received, with strong initial sign-ups and positive consumer feedback that told us there's a real appetite for the program," said Shipley Do-Nuts CEO Flynn Dekker. "With this launch, we can thank our devoted guests the best way we know how – with free do-nuts, merch and other menu items – while offering simpler online ordering and driving business for our franchisees."

Do-Happy Rewards had more than 40,000 members sign up far, and their loyalty members are already spending 60% more than general customers. Rewards members also visited about twice a month as the program rolled out, indicating more frequent visits for loyalty members.
