KFC Putting Money Where its Harland is
On Wednesday, KFC announced it would be giving away $11,000 (KFC has 11 herbs and spices, clever move), towards the college education of the first newborn baby named Harland on September 9th (Colonel’s Birthday, again, these people are quite clever). According to the release, “Beginning on Sept. 9, parents can submit the name, date and time of their baby Harland's birth along with their contact information on www.kfc.com/babyharland.” The site will be live for 30 days and each entry will be vetted appropriately to ensure that the winning child was in fact the first Harland born on Sept. 9, 2018. Harland isn’t exactly a common name in 2018, in fact it ranks 3,257 overall on the list of most common baby names. So for expecting parents, maybe you should consider naming your child after the chicken man himself.

Blockbuster Gets Craft Beer
Relax, you’re not having a stroke, you did in fact read that correctly. Yes there is still one Blockbuster remaining on this planet and yes they did just whip out a unique craft beer. Yesterday, it was announced that the last remaining Blockbuster, located in Bend, Oregon, will be getting its own brewski. 10 Barrel Brewing Company’s “Sinister Black Ale,” has been released in honor of the world’s last remaining Blockbuster. The brand, which was the most popular family home video entertainment brand in the country for years, unfortunately was decimated by the “Netflix Boom,” of the last few years. However, the people of Bend are a proud bunch. They refused to let go of their beloved home video store. Cheers to you Bend, Oregon, for refusing to give up on a brand the world has completely forgotten about.
