Lowe’s Stores Offer Hourly Employees Bonuses Amidst Inflation
Lowe’s is offering hourly employees $55 million in bonuses to help offset the sting of inflation, which has remained near 40-year highs all summer, the company announced.

These bonuses will give a boost to workers at a time when food, housing and other costs remain high, disproportionately affecting the lowest income households. The temporary relief doubles as a retention bonus in a booming labor market that has afforded workers leverage to quit their jobs and negotiate higher wages.

Burger King Tests Plant-Based Chicken Sandwich
Burger King plans to start the test of a plant-based chicken sandwich in the Cincinnati, Ohio, market. The burger chain will be testing the Impossible Original Chick’n Sandwich for a limited time.

Burger King and Impossible Foods first launched the plant-based Impossible Whopper in 2019 and tested Impossible Nuggets in 2021. Comedian Kevin Hart plans to open the Hart House in Los Angeles, featuring plant-based proteins, including a version of the chicken sandwich.
