J.Jill has announced it is launching a campaign and donation in honor of nurses, healthcare workers, and first responders. Beginning May 6 and running to May 31, the brand is giving healthcare professionals the opportunity to shop for its newest collections with $50 e-value codes that will be distributed. J.Jill has said it will offer up to $500,000 in discounts by offering 10,000 codes to nurses, healthcare workers, and first responders. To take advantage of this offer, those healthcare professionals interested must go to J.Jill’s website and verify their credentials through SheerID to get their one-time use offer.
“J.Jill is proud to recognize and give back to those helping to battle this ongoing pandemic,” said Jim Scully, Interim CEO of J.Jill, in a press release. “Our largest customer career group consists of healthcare professionals, so this truly feels personal to us and we can’t thank them enough for all of the selfless energy spent helping patients through this difficult time.”
The brand is also donating $50,000 toward #FirstRespondersFirst thanks to the J.Jill Compassion Fund. Since this fund’s founding, it has given more than $17 million in grants and donations to community organizations across the country. This campaign, #FirstRespondersFirst, looks to provide essential medical equipment like PPE, accommodations, childcare, food, mental health care, and other resources.
One way the brand is looking to boost the campaign is with a social media campaign on Instagram. To take part in this campaign, the brand is asking people to thank healthcare workers in their life by tagging them in the J.Jill #FirstRespondersFirst Instagram post, and if you don’t have someone to tag, the brand is still encouraging fans to share the post. For each tag and share, the brand is also donating an additional $1 to #FirstRespondersFirst up to $25,000.
“We care deeply about the power of community and are committed to honoring those that have sacrificed so much. We couldn’t think of a better way to utilize additional Compassion Fund support than to give back directly to those healthcare professionals leading the charge in their own communities,” said Brian Beitler, Chief Marketing Officer of J.Jill, in the same news release.
The American Nurses Association has also announced the expansion of National Nurses Week from just a week to the whole month of May. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization called 2020 the “Year of the Nurse.”
