IBM Partners with Busan Bank on Mobile Customer Experience

IBM recently announced a partnership with Busan Bank to develop customized mobile apps that will help employees boost productivity and make decisions, ultimately improving the customer experience.

Busan Bank wants to utilize the mobile app for its employees, as Millennials in the workforce are familiar operating this way in their personal lives and so have the same expectations on the job. More than 78% of South Korea's 50 million people currently use smartphones, with adoption at 97% among 18-24-year-olds.

With the selection of the IBM MobileFirst application development portfolio, Busan Bank will create a secure platform that allows developers to create rich, easy-to-use apps for multiple devices. Employees will be able to on-board new customers and complete transactions from the field with the new apps, which all facilitate a more seamless and flexible relationship with customers.

Specifically, Busan Bank employees using the new apps can streamline customer on-boarding processes. Customers will experience a collaborative interaction that will allow them to match their personal financial goals with available banking products. Additionally, the mobile apps will provide flexibility so employees can serve customers where it's convenient for them, like in the branch or in remote locations. Finally, the mobile platform will help ensure a seamless customer experience by integrating with back-end systems and databases so customer information is current across devices.
