Harlequin Launches a “First-of-its-Kind” Loyalty Program for Readers

Loyalty program for readersHarlequin, a division of HarperCollins Publishers and one of the top global publishers of women’s books, has just announced a loyalty program first. Continuing with its mission to entertain, enrich, and inspire, Harlequin will immediately begin offering a host of online points and special rewards that promise to offer valuable, personalized, and memorable customer experiences.

The new loyalty program is called Harlequin My Rewards, and it represents the first time any publisher in the United States or Canada has offered readers points and rewards by purchasing books and completing various actions.

Harlequin My Rewards distinguishes itself from other traditional loyalty programs by rewarding members for online participation. Beyond just completing transactions, the program will also offer points for sharing book reviews, posting opinions, participating in regular book challenges and activities, and by engaging the brand via social media channels including Twitter and Facebook.

"We have the most active and dedicated readers in the industry and, with Harlequin My Rewards, we've created a specialized way of recognizing and rewarding them wherever or however they read or even for interacting with us," said Craig Swinwood, Publisher and CEO of Harlequin. Even the rewards themselves promise to be unique. In addition to signature gift baskets, avid readers can earn signed books or even participate in Skype conversations with authors. After signing up, members can purchase books either online or at any retail location. Online purchases will automatically add points to member profiles. In store purchases simply require members to upload a receipt photo via any mobile device.
