There also was an 80 percent increase in the number of Prime members who tried grocery delivery for the first time.
Amazon says tens of millions times people reached out to Alexa for recipes and cooking advice, with “Thanksgiving Turkey, Chocolate Chips Cookies, and Fluffy Mashed Potatoes” topping the list. Meanwhile, Home Alone, Elf, and The Grinch were the most searched for holiday movies on Fire TV with Alexa.
Amazon added more than 250,000 full and part-time seasonal roles, bring the company’s total to 750,000 employees around the world.
“This holiday season has been better than ever thanks to our customers and employees all around the world,” Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO, said in a company release. “On behalf of all Amazonians, we wish everyone the happiest of holidays and a fantastic 2020.”
