Mark Twain once said, “Loyalty to the country always. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it.” Whether right, left or center, I hope you find the humor in that quote, especially now around election time. If nothing else, Twain has a way of helping us take ourselves a little less seriously. But his humor is also based on insightful observation: loyalty is not a given. The same applies to loyalty regarding companies—99.9% of us are loyal to companies “when they deserve it.”
