Six Payment Services and Nexperts, an Austria-based NFC specialist, are cooperating to implement standards and services based on contactless technologies (NFC) to enable customers in Switzerland to use their loyalty card and coupons in their mobile phones.
Six will implement the standard in their portfolio of NFC enabled point of sales terminals whereas Nexperts is responsible for the integration into the mobile phones. Nexperts will focus on enhancing the SIM cards and mobile wallet functionality to complement the roll-out initiatives of mobile network operators in Switzerland.
Through this cooperation shoppers will be able to present their membership-, loyalty- and collecting cards as well as promotional coupons by a wave with their NFC smart phones on a contactless terminal from Six in a practical manner. Six is currently rolling out contactless terminals in Switzerland in large volumes and will support the acceptance side. First upgrades of loyalty functions are planned to be available by the end of this year.
