Nectar is a European loyalty program juggernaut that engages over 19 million members across the region. As the United Kingdom’s top coalition loyalty program, Nectar has gained popularity by letting members earn points for participating in a wide array of daily activities that leverage their everyday spending habits. These activates including, among others, fueling up the car, buying groceries, paying household bills, getting auto repairs, and even making purchases with nearly 500 online retailers.
The points earned from these daily activities can then be traded in for a number of rewards. In the 10-plus years of Nectar’s existence, these rewards have totaled over £2 billion worth of loyalty program discounts for a variety of goods and services. Typically, these discounts and benefits have rewarded members with dining excursions, travel getaways, home and garden accessories, gift cards, and shopping options.
But now, Nectar has recently added a new dimension to its digital rewards platform. It’s called “Nectar Tickets” and it considerably expands the scope of the loyalty program’s entertainment dynamic.
Nectar Tickets will let members trade their points for access to a host of events in theatres, comedy clubs, live music venues, exhibition halls, and museums all across the country. The exclusive Nectar deal will provide members with substantial discounts.
To obtain these discounts, members will only need to trade 500 points for a £2.50 discount. This can be cumulatively applied to the tickets, which can also be purchased directly though Nectar’s website.
“Nectar Tickets is an all-new offering which gives cardholders the chance to exchange points for entertainment, whilst enjoying exclusive offers only available with Nectar,” the company said in a statement. “Not only that, through Nectar Tickets, customers can get access to one-off experiences including meeting their favorite band or joining the stage during a show.”
This additional aspect follows a growing and successful trend that is seeing more loyalty programs offer exclusive experiences, as opposed to only offering items and discounts.
Nectar, which won the “Best card-based loyalty program” at the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Loyalty Awards for Europe, hopes that this new initiative will further increase the program’s customer engagement levels.
