Customers in the Graham O’Sullivan restaurant in The Square Tallaght can now download an app on their smartphones called ‘Bopzy’ to avail of a new loyalty scheme.

The Dublin-based group is claiming to be the first retailer in Europe to implement the new ‘tap and pay’ service which uses near field communication technology and was developed over the past eight months in conjunction with the Escher Group.

The scheme will allow customers the opportunity to earn loyalty points (5 points for every euro spent) and redeem free products through coupons on the 'Bopzy' app.

The most innovative aspect of the app is the ability to pre-load the cloud-based account with credit and pay for goods simply by tapping their smart phone on the till pad.

Felim Meade, managing director of Graham O’Sullivan Group said: “"We wanted to implement a service that was innovative and would offer our customers something different. This new technology certainly fits the bill and we hope over time that it will increase customer loyalty, support new customer acquisition and drive footfall in-store.”

Graham O'Sullivan Restaurants was set up in 1968 and employs over 50 people in its four restaurants in Tallaght, Artane, Bray and Northside shopping centre in Dublin.

Plans are already in place to roll this service out across all four restaurants and in other retail outlets throughout Ireland and the UK.
