Best Buy and American Express join forces As larger parts of society increasingly spend more of their lives online, many brands are racing to figure out how to better deliver a seamless digital customer experience. Often, this means developing a high level approach to customer engagement that is not only valuable, but also meaningful, relevant, and convenient.

American Express considers this to be among the brand’s top priorities, which has been recently demonstrated through a new deal with Best Buy. This partnership has spawned an initiative called “Pay With Points,” and it promises to bring a new level of integrated flexibility to the customer experience of Amex members shopping through Bestbuy.com.

“We are always on the lookout for new ways to provide more value, choice and flexibility for our Card Members with how they can pay, at places we know they’re shopping by leveraging our unique technology to provide slick and seamless payments experiences for them in a way that only we can,” Dave Wolf, American Express VP of Global New Business & Product Development, told Loyalty360.

Through the use of a new ecommerce technology, “Pay With Points” will allow registered cardholders and Membership Rewards members, American Express’ popular loyalty program, to use points toward all online Best Buy purchases.

Members can choose how many of their existing points they wish to allocate toward these transactions. And they will also have the option to choose either same day in-store pick-up or home delivery.

“Wherever a Card Member is using American Express, we want to meet them there with a seamless and delightful experience,” Wolf continued. “We’re bringing this added value to life with a merchant partner we know our Card Members love.”

This added value comes on top of the already lucrative services that Amex card members already enjoy. Currently, the Membership Rewards loyalty program rewards users with points for dollars spent on all qualifying American Express cards. These points have no limit, no expiration date, and can be used toward various offerings from more than 500 brands.

And Best Buy is now excited to join American Express in this growing venture.American Express teams up with Best Buy
