Southeastern Grocers Donates over $100k to Leading Hospitals
Southeastern Grocers (SEG), the parent company of Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie, has announced a donation of $107,750 to eight leading children’s hospitals across the Southeastern United States. This contribution was made possible through the generosity of customers who participated in a community donation program, donating $1, $5, or rounding up their grocery bills at checkout. All of these generous donations will directly benefit critical hospital initiatives, including family-centered care, innovative research, therapeutic programs, and child advocacy.
In addition to the financial donation, SEG has partnered with the Roc Solid Foundation to build a customized backyard playset for a four-year-old oncology patient at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. This initiative aims to provide a safe and joyful space for the child to play during her recovery from Medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor. Due to weakened immune systems, pediatric cancer patients often cannot use public playgrounds, making private playsets a valuable source of comfort and normalcy. This marks the fifth playset SEG has constructed through its partnership with Roc Solid Foundation, reflecting the company's commitment to supporting the emotional and physical well-being of children facing serious health challenges.
The eight children’s hospitals benefiting from SEG’s donation are: Children’s of Alabama, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Ochsner Children’s Hospital, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, and Wolfson Children's Hospital. SEG’s ongoing support for these institutions underscores its dedication to enhancing pediatric healthcare and fostering stronger, healthier communities throughout the Southeast.

Zales has launched its ‘Own It’ campaign, marking a significant shift in its brand vision to resonate with a new generation of confident, fashion-forward consumers. Directed by filmmaker Marie Schüller and photographed by Hannah Sider, the campaign encourages individuals to wear fine jewelry as a form of everyday self-expression, moving away from the traditional notion of wearing for only special occasions. Kecia Caffie, President of Zales, emphasizes this new direction by stating, “Jewelry is not just about marking milestones; it’s about elevating everyday moments.”
In line with this refreshed brand identity, Zales is expanding its product offerings to include trend-driven collections like Stellar Allure’s modern lab-grown diamond designs and Whimly by Zales, which features accessible, stackable pieces suitable for layering. The brand is also focusing on customization and personalization, allowing customers to create pieces that reflect their individual styles. Creative Director Lionel Cipriano highlights this approach by stating, “Jewelry is for every occasion --- morning coffee, dog walks, even the gym. We’re here to make fine jewelry effortless, wearable, and unapologetically you.”
Beyond product innovation, Zales is reimaging the customer experience through a ‘store of the future’ concept that integrates digital elements with curated displays for a more personalized shopping experience. The brand is also embracing digital-first marketing strategies, including mobile gaming, connected TV, and interactive social media formats, to connect to younger audiences.
