Simpler is Better for E-commerce
Brands should be weary of complicating or changing their E-commerce presence online. Humanizing Digital 2020, a new consumer survey commissioned by Digital Advice technology provider SMARTASSISTANT, found that 54 percent of consumers have stopped purchasing products from a brand or retailer website because choosing was too difficult. Online shoppers crave interactive, conversational decision support on digital channels. Adding to that, 68 percent of shoppers want their favorite brands or retailers to provide them with honest and personal advice, while 44 percent expect proactive product recommendations and tips when shopping online. The delicate balance between interactive, conversational design, and too many options or choices, can be difficult to find in the e-commerce realm.
Uber Releases In-App Safety Feature for Emergencies
Yesterday, Uber rolled out an in-app safety feature that allows passengers to share their car's location, make, model, and license plate number with emergency responders with the tap of a button. The “safety center,” will now be available in the bottom corner of the Uber app while passengers are in the middle of their ride. For extreme situations, Uber is also testing its automatic-sharing in six markets, where users can share their location and what is occurring without speaking, with hopes of making it widespread. There have been multiple allegations of inappropriate conduct by Uber drivers over the last few months, and the safety center is a great start for the brand to start protecting its passengers.
Marriott’s New Rewards Card Look
Marriott and Chase have teamed up to introduce a brand new credit card, the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Credit Card. With the summer officially upon us, you can earn 100,000 Marriott points when you sign-up for the new card and spend $5,000 in the first three months. To put this into perspective, that is the equivalent of 4-5 nights in a major Marriott hotel, possibly longer for hotels outside of major cities. If travelers are already planning on spending a large portion of money and using Marriott for their lodging, the rewards card is a win-win situation.
