Mattel and OpenAI Partner to Deliver AI-Powered Play Experiences

Mattel has announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to introduce innovative, AI-enhanced products and experiences rooted in Mattel’s iconic brands. This collaboration will leverage OpenAI’s cutting-edge technology to create imaginative, age-appropriate, and safe AI-powered play. Both companies aim to fuse creativity with technological advancement to inspire a new generation of fans through intelligent and engaging content.

Mattel Chief Franchise Officer Josh Silverman said, “Each of our products and experiences is designed to inspire fans, entertain audiences, and enrich lives through play. AI has the power to expand on that mission and broaden the reach of our brands in new and exciting ways. Our work with OpenAI will enable us to leverage new technologies to solidify our leadership in innovation and reimagine new forms of play.”

Mattel will also integrate tools like ChatGPT Enterprise into its internal operations to boost creativity, accelerate product development, and streamline business functions. Meanwhile, the two companies plan to co-develop a suite of AI-based offerings, with their first product launch announcement anticipated later this year.

Lucky Strike’s 2025 Summer Season Pass Breaks Records With Over $10M in Early Sales

Location-based entertainment provider Lucky Strike Entertainment has announced a historic start to its 2025 Summer Season Pass program, which has already surpassed $10.3 million in sales and 200,000 memberships. This performance exceeds the total revenue of the 2024 program, which closed at $8.5 million. Additionally, the company’s four waterparks contributed more than $3.2 million in sales from 32,000 passes.

Lucky Strike Entertainment President Lev Ekster said, “We’re pleased to see such a strong response to this year’s Summer Season Pass. We’ve listened to our guests and made several strategic optimizations this season—from accessibility to exciting new perks and seasonal surprises. Those changes are clearly resonating with consumers as we have seen improved and positive same-store sales performance in the portfolio.”

Guests now enjoy added value through both Basic and Premium pass tiers, with Premium members receiving bonus arcade credits and food and drink discounts. The 2025 pass grants holders access to two daily games of bowling with complimentary shoe rental at over 350 Lucky Strike, AMF, and Bowlero locations across North America.
