Starting Now, United Airlines’ Frequent-Flier Miles Will Never Expire
In an industry first, United has announced that its frequent-flier miles will stay with consumers forever. “We want to demonstrate to our members that we are committing to them for the long-haul and giving customers a lifetime to use miles is an exceptionally meaningful benefit,” says Luc Bondar, United’s President of MileagePlus.

Disney Stores Headed to 25 Target Locations
The brands have teamed up to include Disney stores within target locations. “The Disney ‘shop in shop’ locations will be run and operated by Target employees and will include more than 450 items, such as toys, games, apparel, and accessories, including items that had previously been exclusive at Disney retail locations.”

Doritos Bets Consumers Will Recognize the Brand in Its Logo-Free Ad
The snack brand has released logo free ads. “Doritos is the latest brand trying to reach a new generation of young consumers who have grown up on ad-free digital content and are eager to escape corporate pitches. Brands are working hard on ways to make their marketing less promotional—from embedding their products in popular shows that stream on platforms like Netflix, to creating useful apps and entertaining social media content.”
 
KFC Will Soon Be Serving Vegan Fried Chicken
The QSR is leading the way in offering consumers a plant-based chicken option. “The test makes the Yum Brands subsidiary the first national US fast-food chain to introduce a Beyond chicken item, beating Popeyes and Chick-fil-A. Beyond pulled its vegan chicken—the first product from the company—from grocery store shelves earlier this year after deciding it was not up to standards.”
 
Giant Launches Pharmacy App
Pharmacy retail is increasingly going digital. “Aside from traditional drug stores like CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens, few retailers have apps for their pharmacy business. But Giant and Martin’s are joining a growing number of grocers turning to apps to add to their digital pharmacy capabilities. Publix and H-E-B have designated apps just for pharmacy customers, while Wegmans’ pharmacy function is integrated into its grocery app.”
