Zales Introduces “The Edit” to Win Younger Jewelry Shoppers
Zales is rolling out a new store concept called “The Edit” as part of a broader effort to connect with Gen Z and millennial shoppers. The redesigned format replaces traditional glass cases with an open, modern layout that emphasizes discovery, consultation, and personalization. Shoppers can design their own pieces at a charm bar or customization studio, browse merchandise displayed on walls and stands, and use a new mobile app, Z Curator, to create digital “trays” for a more self-directed shopping experience.
The concept reflects Zales’s push to feel more contemporary as it looks beyond its long-standing association with bridal jewelry. Company president Kecia Caffie said The Edit was designed after closely studying how younger, digitally fluent customers like to shop. “We wanted to step back and take a look at the customer we had and the customer we were trying to attract and really understand their needs and the way they like to shop,” Caffie said. “Jewelry stores, historically, have always had that red velvet rope feel, and [we] really wanted to create a space that was inviting to our customer base.”
The approach also positions Zales to better compete with modern jewelry brands such as Mejuri and Gorjana, particularly in the everyday and fashion accessories space. So far, Zales has opened four The Edit locations in Chandler, Arizona, Denver, Austin, and Atlanta, with more planned for 2026.

Southeastern Grocers Delivers More Than $368,000 in Holiday Hunger Relief
Southeastern Grocers (SEG), the parent company of Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie, marked the holiday season with more than $368,000 in monetary and product donations to support hunger-relief efforts. The total includes $180,000 raised for Feeding America through in-store community donation programs, along with over $188,000 in food donations provided to local pantries via SEG’s pre-packed holiday donation bag initiative.
Southeastern Grocers Chairman and CEO Anthony Hucker said, “During this time of year, food represents comfort, connection, and the foundation of many special family traditions. Yet, for many neighbors facing food insecurity, the holiday season becomes even more challenging. We are proud once again to join hands with our longtime partner, Feeding America, to ensure the holidays are filled with joy, dignity, and the sense of belonging every family deserves. Together, we’re doing more than filling plates – we are strengthening communities, creating hope, and showing that small acts of kindness can have a truly profound impact in the lives of our neighbors.”
The company’s giving campaign began during November’s Gratitude Month and continued through December, fueled by customer and associate participation. Shoppers contributed by donating set amounts or rounding up purchases at checkout, while others purchased “Give a Little, Feed a Lot” bags filled with nonperishable items. In addition, SEG’s charitable arm donated $100,000 to Feeding America, helping supply more than one million meals and distributing over 7,000 turkeys and holiday sides to hungry families for Thanksgiving.
