From entertainment to your front door, Chuck. E. Cheese has now taken its new delivery service nationwide. After the brand found success in the five test markets at the end of 2017, they decided to make the changes permanent at all of their locations.

With the sizable shifts in dining trends today, the expansion was largely a response and solution to those shifts.

Ashley Zickefoose, Chief Marketing and Concept Officer at CEC Entertainment, Inc., discussed the third party changes.

“We’re excited to announce that Chuck E. Cheese’s is delivering its famed pizza and other menu items to people nationwide from more than 345 participating locations. Pizza lovers can enjoy our made-to-order, fresh pizzas and other menu items when they order through our third-party delivery partners, Grubhub, UberEATS and DoorDash. We’re also offering customers a free goody bag filled with puzzles, games and toys or a character plush doll free with every delivery order while supplies last.”

The shifts in dining trends among consumers was one of the biggest reasons for the launch into the delivery realm, says Zickefoose.

“There’s been a noticeable change in dining trends today, especially with the increased use of delivery options. And we know families love our fresh, never frozen pizza, but can’t always make it into Chuck E. Cheese’s, so we wanted to make it easy for everyone to enjoy food and fun at home. Plus, for avid food delivery service users, this is a great way to try something new and different. We’re excited to make delivery a reality as part of several innovative initiatives that we have planned this year.”

For the brand, the adaptation to third party delivery continues its trend of incorporating technology into the entertainment brands customer experience. Zickefoose believes the brand will continue this trend within the next five to ten years.

“We will continue to incorporate the latest and greatest technology into our experience. We’ve been testing digital ordering F&B kiosks, tablets and an interactive, light-up dance floor at a number of stores as well as an RFID-enabled tap-to-play card system, called Play Pass in 523 locations. Play Pass is paving the way for a new game changing experience with All You Can Play access at Chuck E. Cheese’s that we’re rolling out nationally this summer. Our goal is to continuously evolve to meet the needs of our customers and always serve as the ultimate destination for play.”

Despite the incredible changes in technology, accompanied by shifting consumers preferences, Zickefoose understands what is really important is not compromising on quality and maintaining a positive experience for customers.

“Technology has certainly shaped the food industry we know today, but we still feel strongly that consumers will continue to value timeless principles including excellent service, good food and above all – a great experience.”
