Albertsons Expands Loyalty Value with Free Uber One Perks for Members

Albertsons Companies are now offering Uber One perks to all of their loyalty-program members (both free “for U” members and paid “FreshPass” members) without requiring a paid subscription to Uber One. This collaboration positions the company as the first major grocer to offer Uber One perks to 48.7 million members.

Members of the free for U loyalty program can receive a 3-month extended free trial of Uber One, while annual paid FreshPass members will receive a 6-month free trial. Once activated, Uber One membership perks include $0 delivery fees on orders over a minimum subtotal, up to 10 % off eligible Uber Eats deliveries/pickups, and earning 6 % back on eligible Uber rides.

Albertsons frames this move as part of its broader loyalty strategy: expanding the value proposition of its program beyond the grocery aisle and toward convenience and services in customers’ everyday lives.

“By bringing Uber One benefits to all of Albertsons Cos. loyalty members, we’re offering even more value and convenience across the experiences customers already love,” Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery & Retail for North America at Uber.

Albertsons continues to broaden its loyalty value with perks that go beyond grocery, including cashback on air and non-air travel through its for U Travel platform powered by Expedia. New for U members get $5 off a $25 purchase, while top-tier members receive deep weekly savings through personalized deals, digital coupons, gas rewards, birthday treats, and free monthly items. FreshPass members unlock even more benefits, including unlimited free delivery on $30+ orders, non-expiring points, and extra savings on select private-label products.
