Office Depot and its subsidiary, OfficeMax, have raised more than $14 million since 2020 to support almost 2,500 Title 1 public schools. The school supply program is in partnership with Round It Up America®. Office Depot and OfficeMax stores have raised funds online and in-store, with each location supporting a local elementary, middle, or high school and collectively supplying approximately 1.25 million students with new school supplies, technology, and classroom furniture.
In addition, teachers participate in exclusive shopping events where they select supplies, furniture, and more through the Teacher Verification program. Teachers also create Classroom Wish Lists, earning 5% in rewards on items on the list and 5% in credits for their schools, which can be used for free supplies through Office Depot’s Give Back to Schools program.
“Caring for the communities we serve is a driving part of our company culture. We are proud to host donation drives in all our Office Depot and OfficeMax locations, helping provide teachers and staff at local Title I schools with the resources they need to succeed,” said Kevin Moffitt, Executive Vice President of The ODP Corporation and President of Office Depot. “Thanks to our customers’ generosity and our associates’ support, necessary supplies, classroom furniture, technology, and more will be available to support continued growth and potential for a future generation.”
Office Depot also supports education through its Start Proud!® program, which is in its seventh year. Start Proud! has provided almost $500,000 in educational materials thanks to partnerships with Boise Paper, Crayola®, and Domtar. In 2024, volunteers from VEYER, Office Depot, and ODP Business Solutions put together 4,000 backpacks with almost $500,000 in school supplies and distributed them to students across four Title 1 schools in the U.S. Crayola contributed another $100,000 in crayons and markers to support the program.
This fall, teachers at selected schools will benefit from shopping sprees and a $20,000 in-store credit from Office Depot and OfficeMax. This will ease the financial burden they often face in purchasing classroom supplies, which can amount to $750 to $1,000 out-of-pocket every school year. Meanwhile, four teachers will be selected by their school’s principals to receive an All-Star Teacher award, an honor for their contributions outside the classroom and dedication to education. Each teacher rewarded with the All-Star Teacher honor will receive classroom supplies valued at more than $2,500, furniture, and new technology.
Through the Give Back to Schools program, shoppers can contribute to their local schools by entering the school’s ID during checkout. Schools will receive 5% back in credits for free supplies, further supporting their classroom needs.
