National Car Rental’s Emerald Club and Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Enterprise Plus programs are both extending their elite statuses for members for one year. Statuses that were set to expire on February 28, 2021, have now extended their expiration dates to February 28, 2022.
Also, both loyalty programs are rolling over qualifying rentals and rental days beyond those a traveler needs to reach the status to next year. The brand shared an example that if a member has 16 rentals this year with Emerald Club status, which only requires 12, that customer will start next year with four rentals in their balance.
“These are difficult times for everyone, and we thank all who are staying home to help keep our communities safe," Randal Narike, Executive Vice President of Global Mobility and Customer Experience at Enterprise Holdings, said in a statement. "While travel has waned, customer loyalty hasn’t. And we want our customers to know we appreciate them and that their benefits will be there for them to enjoy when they are ready and able to travel again."
Enterprise Rent-A-Car has stepped up to make their employees and customers feel safe during the COVID-19 outbreak by taking multiple steps to facilitate a safer environment. The company has set several guidelines for employees, including:
- Limiting the number of employees at each location
- Using social distancing
- Staying home if they are feeling ill
- Washing their hands frequently
- Sanitizing touchable surfaces with disinfectant
- Using disposable gloves while cleaning cars
- Minimizing customer interaction at car pickup or deliver
The brand has also extended the existing no-fee cancellation to include those who pre-paid for rentals directly through them and has modified their already existing cleaning procedure with even more scrutiny. This includes areas such as key and key fob, center console, cupholders, pockets, dashboard, steering wheel, door interiors, the area between seats/console and seat/doorjambs, door handles, and mirrors among other areas in the vehicle. Also, the company has said they are prepared to isolate and quarantine a vehicle if it is deemed necessary.
“Enterprise is an essential services provider that remains open to meet critical transportation and personal mobility needs,” the brand said on their website. “We’re here to serve those who need a vehicle and to help frontline responders including emergency services, utilities, military, and local governments continue to move goods and services during this global health crisis.”
