The Sacramento Kings have announced “a new partnership with tech company Blockparty to bring an NBA-first reward program using blockchain technology. According to a press release from the team, Blockparty plans to use blockchain technology to track Kings fans engagements and accumulate points in a virtual wallet within each fan’s Sacramento Kings + Golden 1 Center app.”
 
New Sonos Service Lets You Rent Its Speakers
With a new subscription service for speakers, premium loyalty has come to the home-audio industry. “Sonos Flex subscriptions start at €15 per month and can be canceled at any time. The service is currently restricted to just 500 homes in the Netherlands but could expand globally if successful.”
 
Giant Food Stores Goes Chainwide with Choice Rewards
The grocery retailer has launched a new loyalty program, Choice Rewards. “Giant executives say Choice Rewards builds on the popularity of the retailer’s longtime gas rewards program. Maintaining the benefits of the Giant BonusCard, Gas Extra Rewards, and Bonus Buy Savings programs, Choice Rewards brings them under one brand with new ways to earn and redeem points—plus an improved digital experience, including access via the Giant and Martin’s mobile apps.”

Target Is Going to Power Toys R Us’ New Website
Target has partnered with TRU Kids, Toy R Us’ parent company, to relaunch ToysRUS.com. “The deal will allow Toys R Us to once again have an online presence, post-bankruptcy, as it simultaneously begins to open Toys R Us stores in the US again. And it could also be a huge boost to Target’s already-strong toy business ahead of this holiday season.”

Vail-Based Group Rolls Out “PrimaVail” to Increase Employee Engagement
Vail Resorts and the town of Vail’s business community have launched a new training program. “The program is a collaboration between the town of Vail, Vail Resorts, and the Vail Chamber & Business Association. The PrimaVail program is a combination of programs from the town, chamber, and resort company. The multi-day sessions begin with a classroom session, followed by opportunities to learn about Vail’s history. In addition, networking, village tours, and employee engagement activities will be offered.”
