Starbucks Honors Veterans with Free Drinks

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Starbucks will offer a free tall hot brewed or iced coffee for veterans, military service members and military spouses at participating U.S. Starbucks stores. In addition, the brand will donate $200,000 to support the veteran community.

Starbucks’ commitment to supporting the military community is a year-round effort and includes hiring veterans, military spouses and opening Military Family Stores. To date, there are 109 Military Family Stores across the nation that are located on or near military bases and are designed to hire and honor soldiers, veterans, and their families.

Zales and Kleinfeld Announce Partnership with Exclusive VIP Experience

Zales recently announced its collaboration with Kleinfeld, the premier wedding dress retailer, to launch a new luxury bridal jewelry collection. Featuring lab-created diamonds in larger carat weights, the rings are inspired by designer wedding dress details.

In connection with this collection, Kleinfeld will have an exclusive offer for those who purchase an engagement ring from the collection: they will be treated to an exclusive VIP Kleinfeld Experience. Additionally, Zales will be opening a shop-in-shop located in the lobby of Kleinfeld's flagship store in New York City. The installation will give Kleinfeld customers an opportunity to shop the assortment of engagement rings and wedding bands.

Mars Wrigley Gamifies Recycling

Mars Wrigley recently launched the Sweet Rewards Challenge to gamify recycling. The effort comes in collaboration with Olyns recycling technology company and features a new approach to the collection of rigid plastic candy and gum containers. Individuals in Northern California who deposit qualifying candy containers in an Olyns Reverse Vending Machine will have a chance to win thousands of dollars in rewards.

Olyns' plug-and-play RVM Cubes feature a 65-inch HD video display, offering a uniquely sustainable way for advertisers to reach consumers in-store. During the Sweet Rewards Challenge, in addition to ads and sustainability messaging, the screen will display colorful slot machine images and "winner" announcements every time a recycler wins a reward.
