BJ’s Charitable Foundation Collabs with Children’s Hospitals to Spread Holiday Cheer
The charitable arm of BJ’s Wholesale Club is spreading holiday joy this season by partnering with children’s hospitals across the East Coast, South, and Midwest. BJ’s Charitable Foundation is sponsoring toy drives, providing gifts, and donating funds to ensure families in need can experience the magic of the holiday season. The foundation partners with local and national nonprofits to deliver support and assistance with a focus on three primary pillars: hunger relief, health and wellness, and education.
BJ’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bob Eddy said, “At BJ’s, we are driven by a powerful purpose: taking care of the families who depend on us. This means we have a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work. This holiday season, we’re proud to live our purpose by helping patients and families of children’s hospitals enjoy the holiday season.”
Notable efforts of the foundation include the donation of more than 1,000 Squishmallows to the Snowpile holiday program at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, and contributions to Nemours Children’s Health in Florida, where BJ’s team members are assisting families at events like the Elf Workshop in Orlando and gift distribution in Jacksonville. BJ’s is also supporting events at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Queens General Hospital in New York, and several hospitals in Massachusetts, ensuring patients and their families have access to essential gifts and holiday support.

Feeding America Collabs with National Partners to Address Food Insecurity During the Holidays
Feeding America is collaborating with The Fresh Market, Hy-Vee, Pampered Chef, Starbucks, and other national partners to assist individuals facing food insecurity during the busy holiday season. These organizations are coming together to provide vital assistance to people in need, especially as food demand continues to rise. As part of a nationwide network of over 200 food banks and 60,000 meal programs, Feeding America is committed to addressing the hunger crisis, which affects 47 million people, including 14 million children, in the U.S. Last year, over 50 million people received help from the charitable food sector.
Feeding America’s Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh said, “Food brings us together, especially during the holidays. This season, Feeding America and our partners are committed to ensuring everyone can bring meals home by offering ways for each of us to join the movement to end hunger. The holidays are a time to nourish traditions, celebrate, and share meals with our loved ones, and by working together, we can make this holiday season full of joy and hope.”
Throughout the holiday season, Feeding America’s partners are offering a range of donation initiatives to encourage public participation in the fight against hunger. For instance, The Fresh Market is running a campaign through December 31, 2024, where customers can round up their purchases in support of local food banks. Similarly, Hy-Vee is promoting a register donation campaign as part of their 100MM initiative, with proceeds benefiting local partner food banks. Pampered Chef is continuing its legacy of philanthropy as Feeding America’s longest marketing partner. The multi-level marketing company of kitchen tools, through its Round-Up from the Heart® campaign, is offering $1 from each purchase of a Give Back Set. Starbucks is also getting in on the action by donating a meal for every protein box sold through January 2, 2025.

CaringBridge and Walgreens Team Up to Support Caregivers with Donation Match Campaign
The nonprofit health platform CaringBridge and Walgreens recently held a two-day campaign to support caregivers. On December 17 and 18, Walgreens matched every donation made on CaringBridge’s platform up to $50,000. The initiative is part of a broader, year-round program that includes CaringBridge’s e-commerce site, CaringBridge.TheGiftCardShop.com, where consumers can purchase and send gift cards directly to caregivers. Since introducing gift cards earlier this year, CaringBridge has earned 3% of each Walgreens gift card purchased, which is then donated to help caregivers.
Walgreens VP of Payments & Financial Services Maria Smith said, “At Walgreens, we understand the critical role caregivers play and the challenges they face. By partnering with CaringBridge, we’re proud to help ease the burden for caregivers with resources and tools that make their work a little easier. Through this program, Walgreens gift cards offer meaningful support, enabling caregivers to access the essentials they need for themselves and their loved ones.”
The partnership between CaringBridge and Walgreens offers a practical way for communities to support caregivers, who play an essential role in the health journeys of loved ones. Through the Gift Card Shop, caregivers can receive gift cards to assist with essential expenses such as medications, first aid supplies, and groceries. The donation match campaign also highlights the important contributions of InComm Payments, which powers the CaringBridge GiftCardShop. Walgreens and CaringBridge emphasized the campaign’s significance, noting that the matched donations will double the impact of each contribution, helping ensure that families in need continue to receive free services and support during difficult times.
