Kobie Marketing, a St. Petersburg-based company and global leader in loyalty marketing, has set a new donation record of 21,783 pounds of food items and another $2,693 in cash donations made out to the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. The local clinic has been providing free medical care, transitional housing, food, counseling and financial assistance to the area’s poor, hungry and homeless for 44 years, and through Kobie’s annual “Giving Back to the Community” event, the company’s donation will help the St. Petersburg Free Clinic provide meals to those who lack basic needs such as food, shelter and medical care throughout the New Year.
“I am so proud of the Kobie team. This is the third year that Kobie has supported the Food Drive and each year they continue to exceed expectations in order to help the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. It’s great to see their unwavering enthusiasm and amazing support going towards such a great cause,” said Michael Hemsey, CEO and president of Kobie Marketing. “Because of our collective effort, we are helping to feed thousands of people in need through organizations like the St. Petersburg Free Clinic.”
Surpassing the company’s 2012 food donation valued at more than $10,000, Kobie Marketing’s employees split into teams and competed to collect the most money or food by accepting donations and holding bake sales, potluck lunches and silent auctions. As a local company, Kobie Marketing's team of 103 employees passionately supports organizations dedicated to providing vital services to areas within the St. Petersburg and Tampa communities.
Many of Kobie Marketing’s valued partners also contributed to the Food Drive, including: Brown & Brown, One Touch Direct, The Connection and ThinkInk.
Food Bank director Ken Murphy was extremely proud of this feat stating, “This has been the largest corporate food drive that we have ever had. Thank you so much for the dedication your team showed to helping your neighbors in need this holiday season.”
