And during the Holy month of Ramadan this year, Etihad Airways is supporting numerous local and international humanitarian efforts by letting guests donate their loyalty program miles.
Etihad Airways, one of the largest airlines in the United Arab Emirates, will promote the values of the Holy month of Ramadan, by encouraging Etihad Guest members to support worthy causes by creating a special website that allows easy access to a list of local and international charities.
For only 550 Etihad Guest Miles, members can begin making donations to any number of organizations such as the Emirates Red Crescent, which provides Iftar meals to disenfranchised individuals across the UAE during Ramadan. Members can choose to donate more points if they wish, and they can choose the charity or cause they would like to support.
Another charity included is the UAE Zakat Fund, which conducts a variety of humanitarian efforts both in the UAE and all around the world.
“Humanitarian donations have proved to be incredibly popular with our members in the past, who are keen to contribute and provide much needed support and to benefit those in need,” said Yasser Al Yousuf, Managing Director of Etihad Guest.
Alongside the special website to make donations easy, another key aspect of this promotion allows members to earn additional Etihad Guest Miles by visiting a special group of partners. During Ramadan, loyalty program members will be able to earn extra points by making purchases at Sarky Jewellery, Hertz Car Rentals, and on Gilt.com.
For a time, booking overnight stays at Viceroy, Marriott and Rotana properties will also earn extra loyalty program points.

Throughout the holiday, the promotion will also allow members to trade Etihad Guest points in return for gifts for their family and friends.
