Free to Join and Open to U.S. eBay Account Members, eBay Bucks Offers     Consumers 2 Percent Back on Most Items Purchased Through the Site with     PayPal

SAN JOSE, Calif.—eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY), the world’s largest online marketplace and leader in     mobile commerce, today announced the launch of its first-ever rewards     program: eBay     Bucks. Any eBay shopper who resides in the U.S. and is a registered     member of eBay.com is eligible to participate in the eBay Bucks program.      eBay Bucks offers consumers 2 percent back on most items purchased     through the site with PayPal.

With access to the largest supply of merchandise of any online shopping     site, consumers can earn eBay Bucks for most purchases made both on     ebay.com and through smart phone devices using eBay mobile applications.      The amount of eBay Bucks earned is calculated in real-time. When it’s     time to redeem, the eBay Bucks certificate is automatically applied to     the customer’s purchase.

“We’re giving eBay’s most loyal shoppers something special in return –      money to spend on eBay,” said Lorrie Norrington, president of eBay     Marketplaces. “eBay Bucks Rewards Program is free to join and easy to     use, providing customers with even greater value when they shop the     great selection and deals on eBay. With redemption rates well above     industry average for comparable loyalty programs, eBay Bucks is a big     hit with both buyers and sellers on eBay. It’s seamless, simple and     rewarding.”

Once consumers enroll, each qualifying purchase will automatically earn     eBay Bucks, which accumulate during each calendar quarter, or every     three months. An eBay Bucks certificate is then issued and consumers     have 30 days to redeem their eBay Bucks towards purchases with PayPal on     eBay.com.

For the past year, eBay has been piloting eBay Bucks with select U.S.      customers. On average, consumers enrolled in eBay Bucks spent five times     more on eBay than those not participating in the program, earning eBay     Bucks every half second during the pilot. Sellers also benefitted from     buyers making more purchases as a result of the rewards program.
