C Spire, which won a Platinum Award for Best Use of Customer Insight or Voice of the Customer in Loyalty Marketing at the inaugural Loyalty360 Awards in March, recently announced the acquisition of MegaGate Broadband that will further its customer-centric focus.
The merger will expand C Spire’s market presence and offer comprehensive business solutions for customers in the Southeast region.
“This combination will further our efforts to put customers first, provide the highest level of reliable service, and deliver great overall value,” Kevin Hankins, COO for C Spire, said in a release. “Our service, along with our suite of wireless, IP Voice, Internet access solutions, and cloud-based infrastructure and enterprise software solutions will deliver on our promise of a customer-inspired experience.”
As part of the merger announced in June, MegaGate customers will gain access to additional products, services and innovation designed to help their businesses grow and become more efficient.
The acquisition is the latest in a series of moves by C Spire that signal the company’s accelerated and expanded focus on innovative business, government and consumer technology solutions. Last September, C Spire launched the nation’s largest statewide initiative to bring 1 Gigabit per second fiber-based Internet access to Mississippi consumers. In February, the company acquired Mobile, Alabama-based Callis Communications, a fast-growing provider of cloud-based communications services for businesses. In one of its most aggressive moves, C Spire plans to open a new $23 million Tier III+ commercial data center in November that will power a full suite of enterprise cloud services and solutions for businesses across the Southeast region.
Based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, MegaGate, founded in 1990, serves most Mississippi business markets as a competitive local exchange telecommunications provider and as an Internet service provider.
Started in 1998 as a division of Cellular One, MegaGate became a facilities-based competitive local exchange carrier and Internet service provider, initially offering dial-up Internet service to its wireless customers, and later adding voice, data, hosted phone service, and a variety of other telecommunications solutions to businesses throughout the state.
“Our customers will continue to be in good hands as C Spire brings its customer-inspired approach to their business technology and communication needs,” Kevin Pack, CEO of MegaGate, said.
C Spire is a diversified telecommunications and technology services company that provides world-class customer-inspired service and a superior comprehensive suite of wireless communications, high-speed Internet access, and a range of other telecommunications products and services to consumers and businesses.
During the Loyalty360 Awards in March, Kale Sligh, Director, Brand Experiences & Products, C Spire, said his company constantly challenges itself.
“Is this working? Do we need to change it?” he said in March. “More than 50% of our customers are part of our loyalty program. We need to look at active membership and stay one step ahead of the competition. We are constantly pushing ourselves, constantly evaluating, nurturing, evolving, and developing.”
