Michael Stephan heads up new “Payback Local” division, while Sebastian Röhrich takes on “PAYBACK Online Shopping”—Payback will send out more than 1 billion personalised coupons to customers
Munich – Payback has recruited two more experts to expand its know-how in couponing and online sales. Michael Stephan (41) will assume responsibility for the newly established “Payback Local” division, focusing on the local couponing business, while Sebastian Röhrich (37) has been appointed head of “Payback Online Shopping”. “Local couponing and digital sales will be among the top growth areas at Payback in the years ahead – for both traditional online retailers and our highstreet partners. We set ourselves apart from services like Groupon, Dailydeal and Kaufda by issuing personalised coupons. This is the only way to foster customer loyalty in the long term. In 2011, we will send out more than 1 billion Payback coupons to our customers, making us the leading couponing provider in Germany”, says Payback CEO Bernhard Brugger.
Michael Stephan brings a whole wealth of entrepreneurial experience to Payback. The co-founder and former CEO of “cooledeals” studied law in Cologne and Berlin and worked in investment banking (e.g. Sal. Oppenheim) and venture capital (Holzbrinck Ventures) before founding his first Internet platform Helpster.de. Sebastian Röhrich studied in Reutlingen and London before working as a consultant at Roland Berger. He brings comprehensive online and e-commerce expertise from eCircle, Ciao and Bing to Payback.
