Scan loyalty card appIt is widely recognized that to win customer loyalty, brands must offer more than just great products and services. Today, going above and beyond means providing exceptional customer experiences, both inside and outside the store. Loyalty programs offering such experiences can be a powerful competitive differentiator, and there is one brand attempting to take this idea to an entirely new level.

Goody, a new digital customer engagement and loyalty platform, is making sure that customers all across New Zealand can earn rewards that are not only valuable, but also memorable. Instead of offering a list of ordinary rewards, Goody allows consumers to redeem unique experiences. For example, members can trade points for 10 racetrack laps in a high performance BMW, cooking lessons from an Italian chef, a gourmet coffee brewing session with a skilled barista, and more.

Retailers all across New Zealand can now integrate with Goody’s loyalty program platform to offer these idiosyncratic rewards and more. Over 320 smaller businesses have already installed the program and a few major brands are set to launch Goody later this year.

Apart from the unique rewards, Goody also brings a high level of convenience that will let consumers discard stacks of physical loyalty cards. Although Goody points are not transferable across businesses and unique to each retailer, every point is stored in a digital Goody wallet. “This isn’t your average ‘buy-nine-get-one-free’ rewards system,” says Gorran Marusich, Goody co-founder. “Goody replaces traditional loyalty programs and provides businesses with a chance to exchange information and to promote their culture and personality. By customizing rewards for their business, merchants create more personal relationships with their customers.”

Customers wishing to enroll in the program need only to sign up in a participating store. To earn points, they can either use a small plastic keychain card or scan their free Goody smartphone app when making a purchase. So far, the program has proved popular among customers.

“I got a Goody card because I was sick of how many loyalty cards I had in my wallet and having to pull them all out to find the right one each time I was in a shop,” Goody cardholder Lee Harrow said. “It’s brilliant having everything loaded on to my Goody phone app and each time I scan it, all my points and reward options come up on screen, it’s such an easy system and the rewards are really great.”
