Tesco Expands Clubcard Rewards to EV Charging in Sustainability Push
Tesco shoppers can now earn Clubcard points while charging their electric vehicles (EVs), owing to an expanded partnership with EV charging provider Pod. The collaboration allows Clubcard members to collect one point for every £1 spent at Pod’s Vauxhall-branded public chargers located at Tesco stores across the UK. The move shows Tesco’s dedication to promoting sustainable transportation and enhancing the shopping experience for environmentally conscious consumers.
Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director Shama Wilson said, “Our customers have long been able to collect points on fuel from Tesco, but with an increasing number of drivers switching to electric vehicles, we are delighted that shoppers can now collect Clubcard points when charging their cars at our stores.”
New customers who subscribe to Pod Drive, Pod’s home charging service, will receive a 2,500-point Clubcard bonus. The incentive is equal to £25 in vouchers or up to £50 when redeemed through Tesco’s Reward Partners, offering further value for customers transitioning to electric mobility. Since the partnership began in 2019, over 2,600 EV charging bays have been installed at more than 600 Tesco store car parks nationwide.
