Checkers and Rally's Joins No Kid Hungry 'Rebuilding' Campaign
Checkers and Rally's is once again teaming up with No Kid Hungry to help end childhood hunger in America. Guests can do their part to help kids in need as well. The company will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry for each new Checkers and Rally's Loyalty Program sign-up starting September 24 through September 30, 2021, up to $25,000.

On September 24, No Kid Hungry virtually unveiled a commissioned mural – sponsored by Checkers and Rally's – in downtown Detroit (1009 Cass Ave.) as part of its "Rebuilding" campaign. The initiative aims to bring attention to how the work of feeding children is a critical part of pandemic recovery and the many ways in which individuals can get involved and do their part to ensure no child is faced with hunger.
 
WoodSpring Suites Eclipses 300 Open Hotels
WoodSpring Suites, an extended stay brand franchised by Choice Hotels, reached a significant milestone with the opening of its 300th hotel. The achievement was marked yesterday with the grand opening of the WoodSpring Suites Gurnee-Chicago North in Illinois, as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Gurnee Mayor Thomas B. Hood and executives from Choice Hotels, developer Holladay Properties and management company J&P Asset Management.

This latest opening milestone for Choice Hotels' extended stay portfolio further exemplifies the resilience and expansion of the company's extended stay model in the economy and midscale space. As of June 30, 2021, the WoodSpring Suites, MainStay Suites and Suburban Extended Stay brands each have 453, 217, and 86 hotels open or in the pipeline, respectively. Everhome Suites, the company's newest brand launched in 2020, now has 18 hotels in the pipeline and has already awarded 10 franchise agreements this year.
 
Bojangles Raises Over $818K for Folds of Honor
In May, Bojangles created a Camo Big Bo Box in honor of Military Appreciation Month and pledged $1 from every box sold to Folds of Honor, a not-for-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to families of fallen or disabled service members, with a goal to raise $750,000. The campaign was wildly successful and took the community by storm, ultimately raising $818,500 for the cause.

“We knew fans would love the camo-themed print and the cause behind it, but we were still blown away by how our franchisees and the community wrapped their arms around this campaign and came together to help Bojangles support Folds of Honor,” said Jackie Woodward, Bojangles chief brand and marketing officer.
 
California Pizza Kitchen and STOMP Out Bullying Launch National Fundraiser
California Pizza Kitchen and STOMP Out Bullying, the leading national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens in the U.S., today announced their partnership for the second year with the launch of a nationwide fundraiser taking place at all CPK locations across the country that will kick off at the LA Dodgers game on October 3.

On October 4, CPK will donate 20% of sales from all U.S. restaurants, whether you dine-in, take-out or order online, to STOMP Out Bullying, with an additional 5% donation whenever a guest wears blue, STOMP Out Bullying’s signature color, in-store during the month of October.
 
Walgreens Announces Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shots Now Available
Walgreens announced that eligible individuals can now receive Pfizer COVID-19 booster vaccinations in stores nationwide, following Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Emergency Use Authorization and new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“Walgreens has played a vital role in responding to COVID-19 as millions have turned to us as a convenient vaccination destination and critical point of community care,” said John Standley, president, Walgreens. “In addition to providing booster shots, our pharmacy teams remain readily available to advise patients, address questions and co-administer flu and COVID-19 primary vaccines to help protect our communities.”
