Kroger Unveils Collaborative Cloud Platform
Kroger, the largest grocery chain in the U.S., continues to lean into its scale and troves of first-party data as it tries to build a robust retail media business. Retail media has become a hotter item since Google announced plans to deprecate third-party cookies last year, with companies like Walmart, CVS, Target and Lowe's racing to develop their own networks and tech products.

CPGs typically don’t own the point of sale, which has pushed them to spend more with retailers that can provide a closer view of where and how customers are shopping. Keeping track of those habits has grown more pressing as the pandemic accelerates the adoption of channels like delivery and continues to throw the supply chain out of whack — an issue that has started to have acute impacts on marketing plans around the fourth quarter and accompanying holiday window.
 
7-Eleven's New Superfan Influencer Team Begins to Take Shape
7-Eleven Inc. has officially drafted the first three members into its 7-Eleven Superfan Influencer Team following the Fuel Your Fandom social media contest.

The first three members include Chaney Belle, Hannah Curtice and Sharon LaRose, who will attend an influencer training camp, receive a monthly stipend to try the latest 7-Eleven products, and co-create content with convenience operator throughout 2022. They also received a $11,000 cash prize.

There are more than 1,000 ghost kitchens in the U.S., but Inspire Brands recently launched one unlike any before it

The company, which owns Dunkin', Baskin-Robbins, Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s, Sonic Drive-In, and Rusty Taco, recently introduced Alliance Kitchen, which it called the first ghost kitchen owned and operated by a multi-brand restaurant company. Based in Atlanta, Alliance Kitchen allows customers to order through a particular brand's online ordering platform or via third-party apps.
 
Giant Launches Automated Online Fulfillment Center in Philadelphia
The Giant Company has opened its Swisslog-automated Giant Direct E-commerce Fulfillment Center (EFC) in Philadelphia.

The 124,000-square-foot facility, located at 3501 Island Ave., now serves customers in the Center City and South Philadelphia neighborhoods and is slated to expand service to southern New Jersey communities, Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant said.
