Amazon, NFL Score Big in Super Bowl Ad Game
Two days later, the question is still being debated: Which brand scored big with its Super Bowl ads? AdAge offered marketing professionals a chance to vote, as did USA Today. Rolling Stone did its own rundown. All seemed to agree, though, that Amazon’s ad about Alexa losing her voice—with cameo by Jeff Bezos—and the NFL’s touchdown celebration dirty dancing with New York Giants players Odell Beckham Jr. and Eli Manning were the top two. After that, the results varied widely.
 
Target CEO Excited About Making Shopping Easier for Customers in 2018
To say Target CEO Brian Cornell is optimistic about 2018 is putting it mildly.
In an interview with CNBC, Cornell talked about how Target will simplify the shopping experience this year through various innovative measures, including an easier process for consumers to buy products online and pick them up at the store, along with leveraging same-day delivery service Shipt, which Target acquired in December for $550 million. We talked to Target last June about its comprehensive plans to remodel its stores across the country.

C Spire Secures National Television Technology Award
Mississippi-based diversified telecommunications and technology services firm C Spire secured a top national television technology award from Cablefax for the 2017 introduction of the nation’s first app-based, live streaming digital commercial TV service, according to PR Newswire. The service eliminates the need for a cable box on every TV, while also allowing programs to be viewed on various devices—smart TVs, laptops, tablets, phones. We spoke to C Spire in December about its emotionally charged Christmas Wish program.
