Convenience is a priority for officials at BJ’s Wholesale Club as they always seek to augment the overall customer experience.
 
This week BJ’s Wholesale Club announced an expanded partnership with Instacart to offer members even more convenience by offering same-day delivery in cities along the east coast.
 
“We are focused on making shopping more convenient for our members,” Rafeh Masood, SVP and Chief Digital Officer for BJ’s Wholesale Club, explained to Loyalty360. “Same-day delivery offers our members the same low prices that they see in our clubs—saving them up to $500 a year on grocery shopping, with delivery in as little as two hours. Delivery.BJs.com offers members another way to shop the club that is convenient for them.”
 
For BJ’s members, this means they will now have access to same-day delivery on thousands of items including premium deli meats and cheeses, produce, meat and frozen foods in addition to household items like diapers, paper goods, nutritional supplements and pet products. Same-day delivery at BJ’s will be offered at all BJ’s Clubs by the end of April, and will offer a simplified fee model with low, in-club pricing for BJ’s members.
 
Members who place their orders for Instacart delivery via Delivery.BJs.com receive lower, member-only pricing, saving up to 25 percent or more on groceries compared to supermarket pricing.
 
Founded in 1984, BJ’s Wholesale Club, the Westborough, Mass.-based membership-only warehouse store began as a sibling to discount retailer Zayre. A year earlier, two other major member-only warehouse clubs began, Sam’s Club and Costco. Primarily an East Coast operation, BJ’s continues to grow with 215 club locations and 132 gas stations across 16 states.
 
Masood talked about the company’s future approach related to delivery services.
 
“We will continue to focus on elevating our member experience with digital by bringing convenience and value to wherever they are,” Masood added. “We will evaluate the changing landscape, solicit member feedback, and continue to evolve the experience that our members fall in love with.”
