Frontier Airlines Unveils Phase Two of The New Frontier Loyalty Program Transformation

Frontier Airlines recently announced the second phase of “The New Frontier,” a new loyalty initiative launching in 2025. These changes are designed to deliver more value, comfort, and rewards for the airline’s travelers, with significant upgrades including free seat upgrades for Elite members, first-class seating, unlimited free companion travel, and expanded options for redeeming FRONTIER Miles.

Frontier Airlines CEO Barry Biffle said, “Travelers should expect more from their airline and, in 2025, Frontier will deliver as we continue our transformation into the most rewarding airline in the sky. We’ve listened to customers, and they want more - more premium options, like first-class seating, attainable seat upgrades, more free travel for their companions, and the ability to use miles on more than just airfare. These changes represent an exciting new chapter in our transformation into The New Frontier.”

An anticipated upgrade of the loyalty program is the introduction of First Class seating, which will debut in late 2025. The premium seats, located in the first two rows of the aircraft, promise enhanced comfort and luxury, available at Frontier’s signature low prices. Frontier travelers boasting Elite Gold and above membership and above will have the opportunity to enjoy the free upgrades, making First-class travel more accessible to loyal customers.

Another exciting change is the introduction of unlimited free companion travel for Platinum and Diamond Elite members, effective mid-2025. This perk allows eligible members to fly with a companion at no extra charge on any Frontier flight, offering unmatched savings. The airline is also expanding how customers can use their FRONTIER Miles, with options to redeem miles for things like baggage and seat upgrades.

FRONTIER Miles boasts the highest earning rate in the industry at 10 miles for every dollar spent. Members at various status levels, including Silver (10K), Gold (20K), Platinum (50K), and Diamond (100K) will enjoy a range of benefits such as priority boarding, free carry-on and checked bags, and free pet-in-cabin for higher-tier members. FRONTIER Miles is free for anyone wishing to join.

Through April 30, 2025, customers can fast-track toward Elite Status membership by earning just 20,000 Elite Status Points when using the FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard or flying Frontier. Typically, Elite Status requires 50,000 points. Also, through January 31, 2025, current cardmembers of eligible domestic airlines can receive up to 100,000 miles after applying for and getting approval for the FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard and meeting the qualifying purchase criteria.
