Alaska Airlines Unveils Surprising “Upgrade Unlocked” Promotion
From now until September 2, 2024, Alaska Airlines plans to enhance the travel experience this summer with its “upgrade unlocked” promotion. The airline will surprise one passenger and their travel companion with a free upgrade from the Main cabin to Premium Class, where they’ll be able to stretch out more with a few extra inches of legroom. Lucky winners 21 years and older traveling more than 350 miles will also receive complimentary beer, wine, and cocktails. As a Premium Class guest, they’ll also enjoy early priority boarding and be among the first to deplane.
“upgrade unlocked is one way we’re showing guests our appreciation for choosing to fly with us to their favorite destinations this summer. Premium Class is just one of the many premium products and services we offer to our guests, including our best-in-class lounges, the freshest West Coast food and beverage line-up, and our award-winning Mileage Plan program with the fastest path to elite status,” said Eric Edge, Managing Director of Marketing and Advertising at Alaska Airlines.
Guests will be notified of their surprise upgrade via email or through the Alaska Airlines mobile app. Premium Class is typically reserved for elite members of Alaska’s loyalty program or is available for purchase at a higher price. Alaska’s Premium seats have the most legroom of any U.S. legacy airline at four extra inches. Alaska Airlines also ramped up its flight offerings to meet high travel demand during the summer. Additional flights have been added across the Pacific Northwest, with new routes connecting Anchorage to Denver, Chicago, and Salt Lake City and further expansions to the east as well. Alaska is also making it easier for anyone wanting to secure an upgrade without having to rely on chance. The airline now gives passengers the option to purchase upgrades to First or Premium Class up to 30 minutes before departure through the airline’s website or mobile app.
